Landforms are created by forces of nature such as erosion and deposition. Erosion is when material is taken away by water or wind. The Grand Canyon is an example of erosion by the waters of the Colorado River.
Deposition is when earth material is deposited, or put in a certain area. A delta, such as the mouth of the Mississippi River in New Orleans, is an example of deposition.
