Description:

This course is for K-12 educators who are interested in integrating technology into teaching and learning. Its focus is on the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TA-TEKS), how they can be correlated with other TEKS content areas, and how units of instruction can be developed to appropriately integrate technology into daily classroom practice. Participants should gain a greater understanding of the Technology Applications TEKS and how to introduce them into the curriculum.

Requirements:

All are expected to participate in discussions, complete pre-post WWW and Information Technology attitude assessments, complete assignments plus a newsletter (500 word) writeup, and give one class presentation. There will be no examinations. The last assignment will be to produce a unit of instruction lesson plan for a selected Technology Integration activity, submit it in printed and machine readable form and post it to the class; then deliver a "show and tell" presentation to the class about your lesson plan (approximately 5 minutes in duration).
